Lynbrook Says Ciao to New Italian Café, Affogato

Atlantic Avenue recently welcomed a “sweet” addition to its already existing stores, Affogato Café. Located next to The Bowl, Affogato Café has been the talk of LHS ever since its opening in early September. Affogato Café is an authentic Italian café prioritizing fresh and simple ingredients in its delicious treats. This café makes for an exciting, new place students can go to during off periods. Rather than the usual bagel or slice of pizza from neighboring businesses, at Affogato, students can buy a fresh-baked pistachio croissant or a ham and cheese sandwich served on imported Italian focaccia, all for a reasonable price.

Trader Joe's plans 2 new New York stores. See where they're going

Two new Trader Joe's stores are planned for New York, expanding the popular grocery chain's presence in the state. The California-based retailer announced plans this summer to open new locations in the Syracuse area and Yonkers as part of its latest nationwide expansion. The plans add to the company's growth in New York, which includes a Long Island store that opened earlier this year. The expansion comes as Trader Joe's continues to draw shoppers with its private-label products and competitively priced groceries. Where are the new Trader Joe's stores? According to Trader Joe's, the two planned stores will be located at: Camillus: 3515 W. Genesee St., in the Syracuse area. Yonkers: 2482 Central Park Ave. The Camillus store, located just west of Syracuse in Onondaga County, will be about 9,000 square feet and become the area's second Trader Joe's. The existing Syracuse-area store is at 3422 Erie Blvd. E. in DeWitt. The Yonkers location will cover about 10,000 square feet. When will the new Trader Joe's stores open? Trader Joe's has not announced opening dates for either New York location. Spokeswoman Nakia Rohde said new stores typically open within three to six months of being announced. Based on that timeline,

Bill Murray spends Halloween at a Yonkers bar

It was a treat, not a trick at Rory Dolan's in Yonkers when actor/comedian Bill Murray showed up on Halloween. The McLean Avenue bar is continually festive — owner Rory Dolan hosts a party no matter what night Halloween falls on, but this being a Saturday, it was particularly celebratory. And all the more so when Murray came in with two friends, ate dinner (he had rib-eye and a nice bottle of wine), and later, helped pour Guinness from behind the bar. Food: It's Halloween season, here's where to eat in Sleepy Hollow, Tarrytown Dolan said he was friendly with customers, many of whom approached him to talk about their favorite movies of his. Dolan, meanwhile, discussed golf courses around the world with him, including prime spots in Ireland. Murray also told Dolan he wanted to check out his place because of its reputation as having great energy. Murray's sighting, which Dolan displayed on his restaurant's Instagram page, was the latest in a string of celebrity spottings this fall. J-Lo was seen at Coffee Unique in Bronxville getting coffee while New York Knicks Point Guard Jalen Brunson, a Scarsdale resident and Laughing Horse regular, was seen in Harrison. Where to Find the Best Pastrami Sandwiches in New York City

As someone who was born and raised in New York City, I’ve eaten a lot of pastrami sandwiches in my life. Delicatessens have always been a huge part of New York culture, right up there with our pizzerias and bagel stores. There aren’t as many traditional Jewish delis as there used to be. Neighborhoods have changed, families have moved, and some famous establishments have closed. But the pastrami sandwich is still one of the great New York foods, and a handful of old names continue to attract people from all over the city and the world.

This Dockside New Jersey Cafe Serves Lobster Rolls And Sandy Hook Bay Views Worth The Drive

Some drives end at a parking lot. This one ends at the edge of Sandy Hook Bay, with boats drifting past and a lobster roll on the way to your table. Highlands is a small Jersey Shore town with a big waterfront personality, and one dockside spot has been pulling people off the highway for years. Folks drive 45 minutes, hop a ferry from New York City, or roll in straight from a beach day at Sandy Hook just to grab a seat by the water.
