Carpenter went 2-for-5 with a triple, a double, four RBI and one run scored in Friday's 13-0 win over the Diamondbacks. Carpenter knocked in two runs with a third-inning triple and added a two-run double to cap a six-run rally in the fifth. The outfielder has gone 9-for-26 (.346) with seven extra-base hits and seven RBI over his last seven contests. That's put him at a .276/.328/.520 slash line with five home runs, 22 RBI, 15 runs scored, nine doubles and three triples through 41 contests as one of the Tigers' most productive hitters this season.

Thomas (knee) could start his rehab assignment next week, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports. Thomas has been making progress since suffering a Grade 2 MCL sprain on April 23 and could return to game action as early as next week. The Reds recalled Spiers from Triple-A Louisville on Friday. Spiers will come up from the minors to replace Justin Wilson (shoulder), who landed on the 15-day IL on Friday. Spiers allowed three runs in four innings during his season debut in early April, but he has fared much better in Triple-A with a 2.43 ERA and 1.12 WHIP. The 26-year-old right-hander has been used as a starter in seven of his eight appearances at Louisville this year, though he will likely be used as a multi-inning reliever while with the Reds.

Atlanta outrighted Stephens to Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday. Stephens came up from the minors May 4 to replace the injured Pierce Johnson, and will now return to Triple-A as Johnson comes off the IL. Stephens made three appearances in his latest big-league stint, allowing one run over 3.1 innings while striking out two batters and walking one.

Pederson was scratched from Arizona's lineup ahead of Friday's game versus the Tigers. Manager Torey Lovullo emphasized that Pederson is not injured -- the skipper simply wanted to use him off the bench during Friday's contest, per Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com. While Pederson sits, Randal Grichuk will serve as Arizona's DH, and Jake McCarthy will fill the opening in right field.

The Minnesota Timberwolves stormed back for a stunning 98-90 victory that eliminated the reigning champion Denver Nuggets in Game 7 of their second-round NBA playoff series on Sunday night. The Wolves went on a 54-24 run in the second half that erased a 20-point deficit and advanced Minnesota to the Western Conference finals. They'll face the Mavericks next round while the Nuggets head home.

Perez went 2-for-4 with two triples, a run scored and four RBI in Saturday's 8-3 win over the Diamondbacks. Perez batted third and continued his strong start to the season, as he boosted his batting average to an even .300 and his OPS to .906. The versatile 24-year-old has settled in as the team's primary center fielder due to Parker Meadows being demoted to the minors. Perez should hold onto fantasy value as long as he's seeing regular playing time and swinging a hot bat.

The Astros will recall Mushinski from Triple-A Sugar Land prior to Friday's game versus the Brewers, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports. There's no word yet on what the corresponding move will be, but Shawn Dubin threw three innings Thursday so he is a candidate to be options. Mushinski has been knocked around for seven runs (five earned) over four relief innings during his time in the majors this season.

Pagan (undisclosed) was removed from his appearance in the ninth inning versus the Dodgers on Sunday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Pagan entered the game with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning, ultimately escaping the frame when Teoscar Hernandez was caught stealing second. The right-hander returned for the bottom of the ninth, recording two outs before being removed with an apparent injury. More information on his status will likely be provided following Sunday's contest.
