Pair of Monmouth recruits commit to UT women's basketball
Ginny Boggess has her first commitments as the University of Toledo women's basketball coach. Faith Fedd-Robinson and Evalyse Cole, each of whom signed with Monmouth last fall, have pledged their allegiance to the Rockets. Fedd-Robinson, a 5-foot-11 wing from New Jersey, had more than 1,400 points, 1,000 rebounds, and 400 blocks at Newark Central. She was a three-time all-conference selection and led the state in blocked shots. "You're going to love watching this New Jersey native compete," Boggess said when Fedd-Robinson signed with Monmouth. "Faith is a do-it-all three-level scorer who brings a lot of energy to both sides of the ball. An elite finisher at the rim with patent vision and playmaking skills, she will incite a lot of 'wow' moments from the crowd. Her size and physicality allow her to defend multiple positions and rebound at an elite level to initiate our break."

Findlay resident Kiesel to run 100th and final marathon in Toledo
Deanna Kiesel will never forget the feeling she had when she completed her first marathon 36 years ago in Columbus. “I came across the finish line and I said ‘never again,’” Kiesel said with a laugh. “I am never doing that again.” Turns out that feeling and mentality didn’t last very long. In fact, the Findlay resident has dedicated her life to running, and she will add another memorable moment to her remarkable journey on Sunday. Kiesel will be running in her 100th and final marathon when she tours Toledo in the Mercy Health Glass City Marathon. It will be the 1,230th race that the 60-year-old Tiffin native has taken part in — “That includes 5Ks, 10Ks, half marathons, marathons, triathlons, ultra marathons. I have kept track from day one,” she said — and she is looking forward to spending it with friends before, during, and after the event.
Supporters cheer on Glass City Marathon runners
Enthusiastic supporters waited at mile markers and the University of Toledo’s football stadium to cheer on Glass City Marathon runners in the longstanding race. Supporters, like Kristina Curtis, stood on the field of the Glass Bowl, drenched from the rain and dealing with temperatures in the mid-60s waiting for their loved ones to cross the finish line Sunday. “We just came down here [the stadium] because he’ll eventually finish down here,” Mrs. Curtis said. “ We’re going to head that way so we can cheer him on at [the] 25-mile [mark].” After they finished the race, runners like Gabrielle Baskinki, who lives in Seattle, smiled and took pictures with friends and family, celebrating her completion of the race.

Wronkowicz brings college expertise to Ottawa Hills athletics
In an era where sports success is more abundant than ever before at Ottawa Hills High School, it was important to the school district to locate the right individual to become its next athletic director. When the process was complete, Ottawa Hills had gone to the collegiate level in choosing Ryan Wronkowicz to fill the spot. Wronkowicz, 46, has spent the past 12 years helping build the athletic programs at Lourdes University in Sylvania, where he most recently served as the Gray Wolves' assistant athletic director and sports information director. He works with 24 sports programs at Lourdes. “I've been in college athletics for 24 years and was just kind of looking for something a little bit different that aligns with what I've done,” Wronkowicz said of taking the Ottawa Hills post. “A high school athletic director does a lot of different things, from scheduling to game management to overseeing coaches.
