State Patrol Investigating Incident Near Winthrop
The State Patrol is asking for the public’s help locating a silver Ford Taurus station wagon involved in an incident near Winthrop Monday that left a man seriously injured. Authorities say that just after 6pm, the car was traveling southbound on Highway 15 near Winthrop when a new vehicle strut assembly (see photo below) fell off the roof rack of the vehicle. The assembly struck the roadway and then went through the windshield of a northbound vehicle.

North Mankato man arrested for impersonating a police officer, assaulting officer
NORTH MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - A North Mankato man was arrested early Saturday morning for impersonating a police officer as well as assaulting an officer. According to a release from the North Mankato Police Department, it happened around 2:40 Saturday morning when a man went to the North Mankato Police Department and said another male had just pointed a firearm at him in the 700 block of Belgrade Ave. The man also said the subject flashed red and blue lights from his vehicle.

Commissioners OK funds for prisoner health services

New Ulm motorcyclist suffers life-threatening injuries going over roundabout
A New Ulm man, Matthew Gregory Gulden, age 56, suffered life-threatening injuries going over a roundabout in Nicollet County Thursday evening. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at about 10:04 p.m. on May 25, Gulden was driving a Harley Davidson southbound on Highway 111. At the intersection of Highways 14 and 111, Gulden straightened out over the roundabout. Authorities believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

During his “It’s Ok Not to Be Ok” tour, Los Angeles-based pop-rock guitarist Sawyer Auger visited Minnesota Square Park in St. Peter to perform an acoustic set on Wednesday, May 24. In honor of Minnesota’s Mental Health month, the mental health advocate and musician was hosted in St. Peter through the efforts of fan and St. Peter resident Kandace Krause and the St. Peter Recreation Department. Auger delivered a two-hour performance at the pavilion and met with local attendees after the show. The concert marked his first visit to Minnesota during his 10-year professional music career.
Anderson claims individual section title, adding to team success
