After executing search warrants and speaking with witnesses, the authorities filed charges against the juveniles. In another incident, two semi-trucks collided at the intersection of Highway 30 and County Road 5 in Adrian Township, resulting in the death of one driver and life-threatening injuries to the other.

A Redwood Falls man, Justin Daniel Okins, 39, has been found guilty in Redwood County Court of using Facebook to violate a domestic abuse no-contact order (DANCO). According to Redwood County Attorney Jenna Peterson, on Dec. 23, 2022, Okins was served with a DANCO prohibiting him from having direct or indirect contact with the protected party, and from engaging in any threatening or harassing conduct that would place the protected party in reasonable fear.
Sleepy Eye Man Killed in Watonwan County Truck Collision; Another Critically Injured
Two semi-trucks collided in a fatal accident in Watonwan County. The accident happened at the intersection of Highway 30 and County Road 5, just east of Darfur. Dylan Robert Maas, 31, a truck driver from Sleepy Eye, died in the crash.

NEW ULM CITY COUNCIL APPROVES SALE OF MARKTPLATZ MALL
The New Ulm City Council approved the sale of the Marktplatz Mall. The council went into closed session Tuesday to discuss the potential to EBMD LLC. New Ulm City Manager Chris Dalton says they own two-thirds of the mall but did not own the center piece. They now own that piece after Tuesday night. The city of New Ulm will purchase the mall section from the county and then transfer the title when they receive funds that are in escrow from EBMD, who was the only developer interested in the space. The City Council also set a maximum increase of the city budget at 5.78% Next year’s budget was approved at over $27-million with the maximum tax levy set at over $9-million. The levy can go down from here but can’t be increased.

MORTON – The identity of a New Ulm man that died following a one-vehicle rollover accident in Morton was released by the Minnesota State Patrol. 36-year-old Jacob Samuel Hawn of New Ulm died from injuries sustained in the accident when his 2013 Volkswagen Jetta ran off the road on Highway 19 in Morton and rolled.
