The Alton City Council went through its list of resolutions and ordinances at Wednesday’s meeting much like aldermen did Monday at the Committee of the Whole meeting. One resolution changing the ordinance that lays out the boundaries of the zones where cannabis dispensaries can be located was laid over in committee, effectively killing that move.
Main Street repairs start Monday in Alton
You will need to find another route if you use Main Street to get from upper Alton to Broadway starting next week. On Monday, the city’s street crews will begin a mill and paving project on Main from Hillcrest to Broadway that is expected to last a week, weather permitting.
