LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A large grass fire in north Lincoln burned two acres over the weekend and reignited on Monday. Lincoln Fire and Rescue, Southeast Fire, Raymond Volunteer Fire and Rescue and Air Guard battled a large grass fire near North 27th and Superior Streets around 1:30 p.m. LFR said they had several issues while dealing with the fire, including high wind gusts and rough terrain. No individuals were injured due to the fire.
Police suspect arson after pickup parked at Lincoln recreation center found with major fire damage
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Police have launched an investigation into an incident that left a pickup truck with major fire damage just south of downtown Lincoln on Sunday. Officers responded to the area of South 13th and F Streets just before 6:50 p.m. after receiving calls about a red Nissan Frontier on fire. The pickup, valued at $7,000, was found with major fire damage parked on the east side of the F Street Rec Center. LPD said the pickup is considered a total loss.

On Tuesday, March 5th, Mickle Middle School released several updates for its students and families, especially those in the 6th grade. The school, which shares updates via Facebook and platform X, introduced new rules about food and beverage consumption and storage.
