Iowa DOT worker killed in construction zone crash on I-80 in Pottawattamie County
POTTAWATTAMIE COUNTY, Iowa — One person was killed in a crash on Interstate 80 Thursday morning. The crash happened near a construction zone outside of the town of Weston. The Iowa State Patrol says 41-year-old Clifford Miller, of Pennsylvania, tried to pass a semitruck in the eastbound lanes around 9:15 a.m. ISP says Miller, a USP driver, hit 36-year-old Matthew Dickerson of Neola as he was doing patch work in the left lane.
Former Gage County correctional officer accused of pointing pistol at pregnant woman
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A former Gage County correctional officer is in the Butler County Jail after a gun was pointed at a pregnant woman in Beatrice. Authorities booked 47-year-old Adam Hutchison in jail on April 22. He’s charged with use of a firearm to commit a felony, terrorist threats and a third-degree assault charge against a pregnant woman.

Nearly $90 million Waverly School District bond fails
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Voters in the Waverly School District rejected a nearly $90 million bond issue. According to unofficial final results released Tuesday night by the Lancaster County Election Commission, 1,605 people voted against the school bond, while 757 voted in favor of it. Although provisional ballots are yet to be counted, with 68% of voters opposing the measure, its passage appears unlikely.
