5 Best Restaurants in Toledo, Ohio You Need to Try Before Everyone Else Finds Them
Toledo, Ohio — a city where the Maumee River glides beneath bridges old and new, where glass and steel rise beside brick warehouses, and the laughter of families, artists, and dreamers mingles on tree-lined avenues. Here, the skyline is a patchwork: art deco towers, murals blooming on downtown walls, and the steady hum of industry softened by the warmth of neighborhood diners. Toledo is a crossroads — of Midwestern grit and quiet hope, of auto workers and musicians, of immigrants whose recipes and stories have become the city’s own.

GoFundMe set up for Monroe inclusive pizzeria
An Ottawa Lake woman is raising money for a pizzeria that will provide jobs for those with disabilities. Alicia LaZette, a former special education teacher, has her sights set on opening Rebel Pizza and Brews in downtown Monroe. She has set up a GoFundMe to cover essential startup costs. Her goal is to raise $2,800; she has raised $206 as of Wednesday, Nov. 4. More: Ralph Mahalak Jr. to be honored at Scouting dinner "There is a real need for this in my community," she wrote on the GoFundMe page. "If we can open in the next 6 to 9 months, this project could create about 15 to 20 full- and part-time positions." LaZette spent 10 years as a special education teacher, helping those with disabilities to learn job and life skills. When she moved to the Monroe area three years ago, she found that opportunities were scarce for her students. "So, I knew I wanted to do something, and I knew I wanted to do something that kind of stood out against the grain, and for some reason, pizza and beer just stuck in my head," she previously said. Part of the inspiration for the pizzeria were coffee shops

Welcome To Ohio’s Historic Polish Village, Where An Old-School Market Keeps Traditional Flavors Alive
The kielbasa recipe at this little corner market is a family secret. It has been guarded through generations, and it still starts with hand-trimmed, coarse-ground pork roast and fresh California garlic. The sausage has been made in the same Polish neighborhood since 1932. The shop has stood at its current...

Sarnie's Deli shines with delicious takeout
Sarnie’s Deli & Pantry in downtown Toledo is set up perfectly as a lunch spot, with a menu full of sandwiches and salads. According to its Facebook page, the bread is baked daily, the salads and sauces are made using local ingredients, and the cookies are baked from scratch. The attention to quality was noticeable during our visits, with everything tasting fresh and well-made. It’s a newer restaurant in the downtown area, but based on our experiences, we hope it sticks around for a long time. Sarnie’s Deli & Pantry ★★★★ Address: 614 Adams St. Phone: 419-654-6655 Category: Dine-in/takeout Hours: 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday Wheelchair access: Yes Average price: $-$$ Credit cards: MC, V, D, AE Website: facebook.com/SarniesDowntown The first thing we tried was Turkey Avocado ($12), with in-house roasted turkey, avocado, muenster cheese, and pesto mayo on sourdough. It was generously sized, the bread was grilled to perfection, and the toppings were bursting out the sides. We also had Sarnies Chicken Cutlet Caesar ($14), which comes with Sarnies cajun-seasoned chicken cutlet, chopped Romaine lettuce, and Caesar dressing on a hoagie roll. It was excellent — the chicken cutlet was giant, juicy, and seasoned wonderfully, the lettuce was

5 Best Restaurants in Ann Arbor, Michigan You Need to Try Before Everyone Else Finds Them
Ann Arbor, Michigan — a city where the red-brick streets pulse with the footsteps of students and professors, where the Huron River winds through neighborhoods stitched with memory and hope, where murals bloom on alley walls and the scent of coffee, curry, and barbecue drifts through the air. Here, the architecture is a patchwork: Victorian homes with wraparound porches, glassy new towers, and the gentle sprawl of parks and gardens. Ann Arbor is a crossroads — of old-timers and new arrivals, of artists, engineers, and dreamers, of families who picnic on the Diag and musicians who busk beneath the sycamores.
