SEAFORD, Del. – The City of Seaford acknowledged Dr. Steve Carey’s years of dedication and service to the Western Sussex County community by unveiling a sign honoring him. The sign was placed above Memorial Drive, a street he drove down countless times on his way to save lives at TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford. Dr. Carey played a vital role in the development of Delaware’s statewide trauma system as a founder of the program and helped bring a comprehensive trauma surgery program to Western Sussex County.

HARRINGTON, Del. – The Delaware State Fair is having a livestock auction tonight, the auction begins at 6:30 in the Kent building. Pinehaven Farm exhibitor Gracelyn Tucker said, it’s an everyday process to keep your livestock prepared for this opportunity. “So we have to wash them, then we blow them, then we can brush them up, then we spray something on them, then brush them.”
3 Injured in Route 1 Crash North of Lewes
A vehicle crash just after 9 Friday morning sent three people to area hospitals. Delaware State Police say a Volkswagen SUV driven by a 21 year old Rehoboth Beach woman was in the crossover at Route 1 and Minos Conaway Road when the driver pulled into the path of a southbound Ford Ranger – the Ranger, driven by a 24 year old Milford man, collided with the passenger side of the SUV. Neither driver was injured, but two 6 year old children in the SUV were flown to an area hospital with serious injuries. A passenger in the Ranger – a 20 year old man was transported by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
