Ignoring the facts about Savannah Road parking
I attended the Lewes Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee meeting Oct. 27, and have a few things to address. It’s obvious to me that there had been a pre-meeting to decide the fate of the parking situation. Also, Joe Elder, after the vote, said, "Well, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose," when they had repeatedly explained they didn’t have the final say, so at that point, nobody had won or lost. Ray Quillen admitted he won’t ride his bike on Savannah Road because it isn’t safe, which is a smart decision on his part.

Road under Nassau Bridge opens
The new road under the Nassau Bridge near Lewes is open to eastbound traffic. The opening is the latest in a series of new traffic patterns as part of the major Minos Conaway Road project that will change how motorists travel around the Nassau area north of Five Points. The new route includes two roundabouts, one at Minos Conaway Road and another at the base of the Nassau Bridge next to the Lewes Senior Activity Center.
