Pair wanted in connection to shoplifting in Seaford
SEAFORD, Del. – Seaford Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two shoplifting suspects. We’re told the pictured suspects are wanted in connection to a shoplifting that happened at Lowes. Anyone with information is asked to contact Seaford Police at 302-629-6645.
UPDATE: Five-Vehicle Crash Closes Malkus Bridge Thursday Morning
CAMBRIDGE, MD - A five-vehicle crash closed the Malkus Bridge in Cambridge on Thursday morning, resulting in one being flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. According to the Maryland State Police, troopers were called to the bridge just after 7 a.m. on reports of a five-vehicle crash. Police say a Ford pickup was driving west on U.S. Route 50 when it struck a tractor-trailer that had become disabled in the roadway. The Ford then crossed into and was struck by oncoming traffic.

LAUREL, Del. – An investigation is underway following a threat that was reportedly made via automated phone call at Laurel Middle/High Schools. We’re told students and staff are being evacuated in an abundance of caution while officers work to secure the scene. All students are safe, and schools are following their emergency protocols.
Cambridge man arrested on more than 30 charges after fleeing traffic stop
CAMBRIDGE — A Cambridge man was arrested on 38 charges on April 29, including handgun possession charges, controlled dangerous substances possession, driving on a suspended license and attempting to elude police. According to a news release from the Cambridge Police Department, officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the area of Rigby Avenue and Camelia Street a little before 11 p.m. that night. Arrest Made in Connection to Deadly December Hit-and-Run in Wicomico County
EDEN, MD - The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in connection to a hit-and-run that claimed the life of a 32-year-old man in December of last year. According to police, Aaron Douglas III, 32, was walking with his girlfriend along South Upper Ferry Road in Eden on December 4th, 2023 around 8 p.m. when a vehicle struck him. Police say Douglass pushed his girlfriend out of the way, likely saving her life. Investigators say the driver fled the scene.
Investigation underway following five-car crash in Cambridge
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Maryland State Police are investigating a five-car crash early Thursday morning in Dorchester County. The crash happened shortly after 7 a.m. on westbound Route 50 at the Malkus Bridge. Preliminary investigation revealed that a Ford pickup was traveling west on Route 50 when, for unknown reasons, hit a tractor-trailer that was disabled in the roadway. The pickup truck then entered the travel lanes and was hit by oncoming traffic.

High Street house fire under investigation
CAMBRIDGE — The cause of a fire that started in the exterior of a two-story, single-family home in the 400 block of High Street is under investigation. According to a news release from the Office of the State Fire Marshal, the one-alarm fire, which occurred on April 29, was discovered by a neighbor. It took 20 firefighters 20 minutes to control. The Office of the State Fire Marshal said the fire resulted in an estimated loss of $10,000. No injuries or deaths were reported. Rescue Fire Company was the primary responding fire department on the scene. The Office of the State Fire Marshal said anyone with information about the fire should call the Lower Eastern Region of the Office of the State Fire Marshal at 410-713-3780.
Laurel PD making sure drivers travel safely around commercial vehicles
LAUREL, Del. – Laurel Police are working to make sure drivers are traveling safely around commercial vehicles. Laurel Police Department says to drive normally and give truck drivers the space that they need. “Keep your distance if you’re following behind a commercial vehicle you can’t – most of the time see past it, so you don’t know what’s going on in front of it,” said Corporal Kevin Lieber, with the Laurel Police Department.
