'Funnel cloud' caught on video in Sussex County, Delaware
The Sussex County Emergency Operations Center in Delaware has shared video of a “funnel cloud” in the area on April 1, 2023. “Sussex County emergency management and other first-responders are investigating reports of damage, including downed trees and wires, in the Bridgeville-Greenwood areas of Sussex County, where a funnel cloud was sighted at approximately 6 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023," the post on the center's Facebook page says.

Pittsville man sentenced for illegally possessing firearm
SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man has been sentenced to more than a decade behind bars in connection to a 2021 fatal crash. During the late evening hours of October 21, 2021, police responded to the intersection of Queen Avenue and Duchess Drive for a fatal crash. While at the scene, Sheriff Mike Lewis recovered a firearm from underneath the seat that 35-year-old Timothy Ketterman was sitting in. A search of the vehicle revealed additional .22 caliber ammunition, an extended magazine, and drug paraphernalia. Ketterman is a convicted felon who is legally ineligible to possess a handgun.

Patty Cannon should not be glorified
A recent story in Delaware media about the location of Patty Cannon’s bones correctly identifies her as a murderess who also kidnapped African American adults and children to sell to slave catchers as runaway slaves. The guest column also portrays her as the object of children’s scare games and whose bones were unearthed in 1902 and were passed to various people, ultimately landing in the Smithsonian Institution in 2010, where doubt was cast upon whether they were her bones or those of a man.
Reassessment Project Delayed In Sussex County

In a Fenwick Island Town Council meeting last Friday, Mayor Natalie Magdeburger presented community members with an update on the county’s reassessment project. Philadelphia Man Arrested in Stolen Car Chase in Delaware
MILLSBORO, DE – Yesterday, Delaware State Police arrested 19-year-old Tahvon Hughes of Philadelphia, PA, after he fled from a traffic stop in a stolen 2018 gray BMW X5. At approximately 10:50 a.m., troopers responded to Gravel Hill Road near Zoar Road regarding the stolen vehicle that was traveling through the area. BMW was able to provide GPS coordinates to police dispatchers, and a trooper spotted the car heading southbound on Gravel Hill Road.
