CAMBRIDGE — A Cambridge man was arrested on assault and reckless endangerment charges following a report of a physical disturbance.

Davonta Lamar Harper, 30, was arrested for first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.

According to a news release from the Cambridge Police Department, officers responded to a report of a physical disturbance in the 300 block of Wood Duck Drive on April 28.

Police said that upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim who reported they had been assaulted by Harper. Police said the victim told them that they day before, they had gotten into an argument with Harper, and Harper strangled them.

Police said the victim reported that on April 28, Harper punched the victim multiple times in the face and back. Police said officers observed signs of injury consistent with what was reported.

After being arrested, Harper was transported to the police department for processing and an initial appearance before a court commissioner. Police said Harper was then turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections on no bond.
