Dylan Falk went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run as fifth-seeded Cranford defeated 12th-seeded Union 7-0 in the first round of the Union County Tournament in Cranford. Cranford (10-6) took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning before adding four more runs in the sixth. Joseph Paccione pitched 5 2/3 innings with three runs, five walks, and six strikeouts.

CRANFORD, NJ - Congratulations to this week’s Cranford High School Athletes of the Week, Ellie Semple and Brandon Quach! Ellie, a junior, is a track and field athlete. This past week, she helped lead three different teams to medal-winning performances, including the 4x400m with a meet record time of 4:04, the top mark in the 35-year history of the event. Ellie also ran a personal best time of 1:08 in the 400m intermediate hurdles to help the team to a first place finish. Alyssa Monaco allowed two earned runs on eight hits in a complete game for Gov. Livingston in its 4-3 win over Cranford in Berkeley Heights. Emma McElroy went 3-for-3 for Gov. Livingston, which scored four runs in the fourth inning after trailing 3-0. Paige Drennan, Hannah Belluche and Abbey Devanney all drove in runs in the victory.

CLARK, NJ — ALJ softball pitcher Cassie Conforti has now pitched over 100 strikeouts in her freshman season, securing the feat in a home game against Westfield on Friday. The Crusaders defeated the Blue Devils, 7-0. Conforti entered the game with 94 strikeouts. In a complete game shutout, she added 12 more to that total for 106 overall. ROSELLE, NJ - Roselle Catholic’s Varsity Baseball Team came to play when it mattered most, defeating Rahway 12-3 in the Preliminary Round of the Union County Tournament on Wednesday. Freshman Armando Agusti led the Lions with three RBIs and two hits. Augusti, sophomore Lenny Peguero, senior Aidan Bell, and senior Bryce Beverly each had multiple hits in the contest. Peguero also led the way on the mound, pitching seven innings of two-run ball, with nine strikeouts. Verona High School Cheerleading Announces Its 2024 Youth Summer Camp
VERONA, NJ - Verona Hillbilly Cheer invites interested residents to participate in their second annual Youth Cheerleading Summer Camp. The event is open to all incoming kindergartners through 8th Grade.
