The Bone-Chilling Legend Of This Ohio Tunnel Will Keep You Up At Night
Some places just feel wrong, and I don’t mean wrong like someone put pineapple on pizza, but wrong in a way that makes your instincts scream at you to turn around. The Moonville Tunnel near McArthur, Ohio, is one of those places, a 100-foot passage through a hillside that has been collecting ghost stories and unexplained phenomena for well over a century.

Piketon Council looks at legislation to keep GoBus out of village
PIKETON — Piketon Village Council met in regular session Monday night and among the topics that came up was the issues the village has with passengers who are supposed to get on the GoBus. Most recently, a released inmate was brought to the GoBus stop and refused to get on the GoBus, according to a discussion at Monday night’s meeting. “He was in town for a couple days, but he wasn’t breaking any laws,” Piketon Mayor Billy Spencer said. “We can’t make him get on the bus. But then he went crazy.” According to Spencer, he started swearing at police officers, and bumming stuff off people as they walked into Duke and Duchess and walked out into the middle of traffic on Route 23, eventually getting arrested. The suspect was returned to Southern Ohio Correctional Facility where was originally serving time on a manslaughter charge. “There is no benefit to Piketon for the GoBus to come through town. So we’re going to try to keep them out of town if we can,” Spencer said. “There hasn’t been any positives coming from the GoBus being in town, but there have been negatives. This wasn’t the first incident where an inmate that

Bust of Chief Logan unveiled, free transit announced at city council meeting
LOGAN — A bust of Chief Logan was unveiled at Tuesday’s city council meeting. Chief Logan is historically known for being a leader of the Mingo people, a group of Iroquoian people who migrated from their land in New York state into what was then called the Ohio Country, an area made up of land from most of Ohio and parts of Pennsylvania, Indiana and West Virginia. After several Mingo people were murdered by Virginian settlers, including several members of Logan’s family, he and other Mingo people retaliated, marking a shift in once-friendly relations between Logan and European settlers. Following these attacks, Logan delivered a speech that became known as “Logan’s Lament.” The speech will be available for listening directly next to the bust, which will be displayed in a shadow box in the park. The bust is the work of local resident (and Logan Daily News columnist) Bud Simpson, and was cast in Alan Cottrill’s bronze foundry in Zanesville. The city council also heard from Carrie Beck, who was speaking on behalf of Logan Public Transit. Beck announced that they have partnered with AmeriHealth Caritas Ohio to make public transit completely fare-free from July 1, 2026 to July 1,
