Illegally dumped tires cleaned up
Following up on a complaint made on April 8 to the Hocking County Sheriff and Health Department about illegally dumped tires on a county road in Salt Creek Township, over 200 tires were cleaned up on Earth Day. Working together on the effort were the Salt Creek Township trustees and staff, deputies from the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office, Hocking County Engineer and their staff, and leading the effort was the Hocking County Health Department with the support of Athens-Hocking Solid Waste District. The dumping incident is still under investigation.
