Designated Dawgs: Student nonprofit offers rides home from downtown
Designated Dawgs, a student-led organization at the University of Georgia, has aimed to make Athens a safer place for the past two decades by offering rides home for students. "Designated Dawgs is about giving safe rides home to UGA students," Isabella Fernandez, the previous executive director and a recent graduate of UGA with a bachelor's in risk management and insurance said. “It's about preventing drinking and driving and sexual assault and just dangerous situations."
UGA Grady graduates give advice to incoming students
Three graduates and Presidential Award of Excellence recipients from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications gave advice to incoming Grady students. Cierra Walker, Morgan Jones and Jamie Martin were presented the award by University of Georgia President Jere Morehead for their outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements back in April and are now moving into their future plans.
