Library’s Summer Reading Program offers adventure
LOGAN — The Logan Hocking County District Library provides programs for all ages that make reading fun. One of their biggest programs is the Summer Reading Program (SRP). Expanding her horizons, Emaline Duquette, a senior at Athens High School, will sing the national anthem for the Savannah Bananas on May 25, when they play at the Huntington Park Stadium in Columbus. A former employee of an area nursing home is alleging that her employer violated Ohio’s whistleblower protection law, by firing her for raising concerns about nurse understaffing and resident safety. Chastidy Hanlon is suing the Dublin-based Continuing Healthcare Solutions, Inc., in Athens County Common Pleas Court. Jackson and Glouster receive Energy Efficiency Grants to replace lights
COLUMBUS — Jackson and Glouster were among the municipalities received a total of $3.1 million in grants to support sustainable, long-term cost and energy savings. The grants are funded through the Brightening Ohio Communities Grant Program, which was announced by Governor Mike DeWine in November.
