Softball Recap: Mauriana O'Brien leads a balanced attack to beat Athens
Sheridan had already won 18 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 runs), and they went ahead and made it 19 on Tuesday. Cora Hall was stellar again for Sheridan softball. This time, she had plenty of help.
ATHENS — This was no ordinary Tuesday with Mauri. This one, in fact, was way better than most. Mauri O'Brien's first career home run, with her team leading by a single run, was among the most important highlights of Sheridan's 4-1 win against Athens during a Division II district semifinal at Ohio University. ...

Matching up with Sheridan in the District semifinals at Ohio Softball Field on OU’s campus, the Bulldogs would put up a valiant fight but ultimately fall 4-1 to the Generals. ...
Stout defense helps guide Athens to a Sectional championship blowout of Meigs
THE PLAINS - Beating a divisional rival twice in a season is hard enough, it’s not often that you get the opportunity to complete a three-game sweep on the year. For an Athens team that ran rampant through the Tri-Valley Conference-Ohio this year, it was just another day on the diamond. Behind a complete game effort from Noah Sincoff on the mound and some nifty defense behind him, the Bulldogs were able to smother Meigs en route to a 7-1 victory in the Sectional championship...

Athletic directors: Unsung heroes of Ohio spring sports
In the unpredictable world of spring sports in Ohio, where rainouts and makeup games can throw schedules into disarray, there exists a group of unsung heroes: the athletic directors. These individuals, often working tirelessly behind the scenes, play a crucial role in ensuring that athletes get the chance to compete despite Mother Nature’s whims. Ohio’s spring weather can be notoriously fickle, with rain showers and thunderstorms frequently interrupting outdoor sporting events. When games are canceled due to inclement weather, athletic directors spring into action, coordinating...
