No. 1 EDGE In Kentucky Announces Commitment To ACC Program

Four-star edge rusher Austin Alexander announced his commitment to North Carolina. The 6-foot-4, 240-pounder is from Cooper High School in Burlington, Kentucky.

He committed to the Tar Heels over Notre Dame, Kentucky, Stanford, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.

Alexander is the No. 297 overall prospect and No. 30 EDGE in the class of 2025. He ranks as the No. 1 EDGE and No. 3 player in Kentucky, according to the On3 industry rankings .

Following Alexander's commitment, North Carolina's 2025 recruiting class ranks No. 19 nationally and No. 4 in the ACC. He is the third Top-300 prospect to commit to the Tar Heels, joining four-star Alex Payne and four-star Bryce Baker.

Alexander earned first-team All-State and All-Conference honors last season. He finished his junior season with 81 total tackles, 19 sacks, and two fumble recoveries. He also recorded 1,138 receiving yards and 19 receiving touchdowns.
