An assistant principal and head football coach at Durham's Hillside High School has been arrested on an attempted rape charge.

Joseph Winstead, 78, of Durham was shot and killed Tuesday on North Driver Street.

The 17-year-old has also been charged with assault, animal cruelty and other crimes after the March shooting spree.

SMITH COUNTY -- One person is dead after a vehicle crash Saturday in Smith County. APEX, N.C. (WNCN) — A woman has been arrested in connection to the fatal shooting in April in which an SBI officer was involved.
