TCSO investigates issues on Ekloff Rd.
Last Wednesday, March 20, 2024, Tillamook County Sheriff Joshua Brown joined as several of his Deputies and Corporals contacted several people on Ekloff Rd that have been suspected of being involved in illegal dumping, disorderly conduct, illegal parking and criminal mischief."This was an operation that was spearheaded by Corporals Chris Barnett and Ethan Ault," said Sheriff Brown. "The subjects had placed many disabled vehicles and trash on the county easement, and the investigation also revealed some physical damage to private timber property, and also possible environmental damage."The three locations along Ekloff Rd also impeded traffic in the area to those engaged in logging operations, as well as citizens using the road for recreation. Some of the vehicles were able to leave under their own power, while others were towed out of the area.At least one of the vehicles was later seen in a pullout near the summit on Highway 131 (a State Highway) for a few days, but has since moved from that location. At least one citation was issued and at the completion of the investigation, reports will be forwarded to the Tillamook County District Attorney for prosecutorial consideration.
