Stabbing suspect waives right to speedy trial
LIMA — A Mansfield man involved in a stabbing in March waived his constitutional right to a speedy trial at a pretrial hearing on Thursday. Rocky Hayner, 30, was indicted on one count of aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony, and two counts of felonious assault, second-degree felonies, for a stabbing that occurred at 1508 E. Fourth St. in Lima on March 5. On that day, Lima police officers found a man at the house who had multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to a hospital and listed in serious but stable condition.

CELINA, OH (WLIO) - A new tradition began today at Grand Lake in Celina!. Today and on Saturday, May 18th, Boardwalk Village is hosting its first Boardwalk Boat & Bike Show. Local dealers will be at the event, displaying and selling boats, motorcycles, ATVs, golf carts, and more. There will also be food trucks, live music, and a cornhole tournament at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

WAPAKONETA, OH (WLIO) - Summertime is quickly approaching, and in Wapakoneta, that means the return of another season of "Party in the Park Summer Concert Series" has arrived!. On Friday evening at Wapakoneta's Heritage Park, friends and families laid down their lawn chairs and rolled out their blankets to enjoy live music by the band Nixon Perry. Food vendors also brought out the salty and sweet snacks, and a designated DORA bar had beverages available for purchase with all proceeds supporting non-profit community service organizations in the Wapakoneta region. Organizers say not only do residents love the free concerts, they also have a chance to explore Downtown Wapakoneta.
Mansfield man who allegedly stabbed another man over an ex-girlfriend has trial pushed back
ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - The trial for a Mansfield man who is facing charges for a March stabbing has been pushed back until September 2024. 30-year-old Rocky Hayner signed a time waiver this week, and the judge has moved the trial back to the fall. His lawyer has asked that statements that he made during interviews with law enforcement be suppressed. A hearing will be held in July to discuss that motion.

Murder suspect to be extradicted back to Allen County
LIMA — A man charged with murder in the March 10 death of Lima resident Chrislande Auguste will be extradited from Rhode Island to Allen County later this month. Gervens Justilien was arrested March 29 in Providence, Rhode Island, as the principal suspect in Auguste’s death. His capture followed a collaborative investigation by the sheriff’s office and the U.S. Marshals Service’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.
