Calumet County Farm Bureau hosts first-ever ‘Classroom on the Farm’
BRILLION, Wis. (WFRV) – Calumet County Farm Bureau hosted the first annual “Classroom on the Farm” at Woldt Farms LLC in Brillion on Thursday. Four-hundred fourth-grade students from Chilton School District, New Holstein School District, Hilbert School District, Janet Berry School, Holy Family School-Brillion, Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran- Menasha, Reedsville, Holyland Catholic, Divine Savior, and Trinity Rantoul participated in the event.
Man accused of kidnapping a mother, child outside Fox River Mall will be sentenced Friday
APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) - A man accused of kidnapping a mother and her child at knifepoint outside Fox River Mall in Grand Chute is scheduled to be sentenced Friday. Court documents say last October, Jay Scott approached the woman and her 4-year-old son in the parking lot outside Macy’s. He showed a knife and demanded she get into her car and drive to an ATM. The woman said Scott said he didn’t want to hurt her, he just wanted her money.
Broadband to expand in five Barron County towns
Broadband expansion is coming to the towns of Barron, Maple Grove, Prairie Lake, Rice Lake and Doyle, it was announced at Tuesday's meeting of the Barron County Board of Supervisors by Mosaic Technologies public relations manager De Anna Westphal.
