Heating up inland with near record highs
SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - High pressure is slipping away toward the Atlantic as a couple of fronts try to punch into our area. This repositioning of the high pressure system will bring southeasterly winds our way on Friday and into Saturday which will bring up the humidity. This will make it feel like the low to mid 90s mainly east of I-75. Along the coast and within a couple of miles look for mostly sunny skies and highs close to the average for this time of year which is 83 degrees. A west wind will develop in the afternoon keeping things cooler as the air moving in from the Gulf will be moving over 75 degree water temperatures. This always makes for a nice beach day.

Cooler along the coast with some 90s inland
SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - We have had a string of days with lots of sunshine and mild temperatures along the coast with upper 80s elsewhere. High pressure has been the main weather feature which has been responsible for providing us with this beautiful spring weather. Winds during the morning have been out of the ESE and then during the mid afternoon we are see a sea breeze or west wind develop and bring in the Gulf cooled air. The water temperatures are right around 75 degrees right now so the air moving into the coast has been in the upper 70s to low 80s right along the beaches. Inland or a few miles east of the beaches we are seeing the temperatures warm into the upper 80s which is a few degrees above average for this time of year.
