The Sarasota Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred near the 1500 block of Main Street, Sarasota, a social media release states. According to the release, the incident was reported shortly after 12:30 a.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023. A victim, a 19-year-old Sarasota man, told officers he was punched in the face by a man armed with a gun. The victim said the man demanded money, stole his phone, and quickly fled the scene.
