Angel Reese Going Viral For Bold Statement After Facing Criticism For Attending Met Gala

The buzz continues to grow around former LSU star Angel Reese as she embarks on her WNBA career.

She has become a fan favorite on the court for her impressive post moves and gritty defense and has also emerged as a bit of a fashion icon off the court in the infancy of her career. She recently made her preseason debut with Chicago Sky, and a few days later also made her Met Gala debut which was a controversial decision to some.

With the Met Gala on May 6, and her second preseason game the next day, many fans were questioning if she should have been more focused on basketball rather than extracurriculars despite the fact they were both in New York. Reese and the team didn't see it as a problem, and when she returned to the hardwood she didn't skip a beat.

She helped the Sky win in blowout fashion against the New York Liberty by a score of 101-53, and she herself finished with 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting with five rebounds, and two blocks. She also sported a +/ rating of +32 which was second on the team.

She made sure to let her critics know that she "slayed" both.

Reese is set to make her WNBA regular-season debut on Wednesday, May 15 against the Dallas Wings.
