Caitlin Clark went viral during their recent game against the New York Liberty after she hit the floor following a hard screen from Breanna Stewart. Indiana Fever coach Christie Sides, however, is not making a big deal out of it.

Stewart was heavily criticized for the move, which occurred early in the first quarter when Clark was trying to stay on her defensive assignment. Stewart set up a screen, which the Fever rookie didn't see, resulting Clark to hit the former WNBA MVP and fall to the ground knees first.

Many said that Stewart targeted Clark to hit her. Meanwhile, others blamed Clark's teammate for not letting her know that there was a screen waiting for her.

Sides, for her part, didn't see any ill intentions from Stewart or the Liberty from the play. In her eyes, there was nothing suspicious about it.

"I think she just got caught up between two really, really, strong, tall, physical players. I mean, they were standing still, they didn't do anything out of the way," Sides explained, via Matthew Bryne.

The Fever coach also expressed her belief that if anything wrong or bad comes up to Clark or any of her players, the rest of the team will back them up.

"I think our players will always stand up for their teammates. I didn't even see it until after the game... but yeah, I think her teammates will for sure –– if there's something that needs to be, you know, they'll stand up for sure," Sides added.

Hopefully, though, the Fever can make life easier for Caitlin Clark as she adjusts to the level of physicality in the WNBA.
