Resurfacing will continue on US 41
GREEN BAY — The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region weekly construction update includes resurfacing of U.S. 41 in Marinette County. The work will take place from Flame Road in the Town of Peshtigo to West Cleveland Avenue in the City of Marinette. That’s a length of 2.7 miles. Marinette man faces sentencing for meth, THC, firearms possession
MARINETTE — A Marinette man faces sentencing after being convicted of possessing meth, THC, drug paraphernalia, an illegally obtained prescription (as a party to the crime) and maintaining a drug trafficking place. Russell DeCamp was convicted on April 11 by Marinette County District Attorney DeShea Morrow on all 10 counts after a two-day jury trial in Marinette County Circuit Court. DeCamp was also convicted of being a felon possessing a firearm and obstructing an officer. Judge Jane M. Sequin entered the jury’s verdicts and also found that DeCamp was a repeat offender and a second and subsequent drug offender. Sentencing is scheduled for June 17. The district attorney’s office expressed thanks to the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, the Marinette Police Department and the Wisconsin State Crime Laboratory for their assistance with the case.

Marinette students install duck houses along Menominee River
MARINETTE — Honoring the earth was on the minds of Marinette Middle School (MMS) technical education students this week as they installed wood duck houses along the Menominee River and Menekaunee Harbor. Students in Josh Greetan’s class created 10 wood duck houses, each laser engraved with a number and the project identifier. Scott Macintyre’s high school welding class created the mounting brackets.
