GREEN BAY — The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region weekly construction update includes resurfacing of U.S. 41 in Marinette County.

The work will take place from Flame Road in the Town of Peshtigo to West Cleveland Avenue in the City of Marinette. That’s a length of 2.7 miles.

The project began April 15 and will continue through July 7. Total cost is $3.41 million.

The work includes asphalt resurfacing and concrete repair, guardrail grading and replacement, median drain replacement, inlet adjustments, curb and gutter replacement, electrical loop detector replacement, rumble strips and pavement markings.

This week, the contractor will place the curb and gutter, conduct asphalt surface patching and asphalt surface milling, pavement joint repair, placement of a lower layer of asphalt pavement and replacement of median drainpipes.

The roadway will be open to traffic and U.S. 41 will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction. Temporary driveway closures will be necessary during parts of the construction process.
