Police: Woman caught stealing from local grocery store
Williamsport, Pa. — A loss prevention officer reported multiple thefts to state police last week. Ciara Maisha Howell, 33, of Williamsport allegedly under scanned items through a self-checkout lane at Weis Market on River Avenue. She committed three thefts from the end of March to last week, Trooper Philip Kyle said. A receipt showed Howell stole $67 worth of groceries over the three trips to the same store, according to the complaint. The alleged stolen items included beef brisket, crab legs, chicken soup, and soda. Howell spoke with police on April 19 about the missing items. She allegedly confessed to stealing the groceries. Howell is being charged with second-degree misdemeanor retail theft. No bail is listed for Howell. Docket sheet

Williamsport, Pa. — A woman dealt directly to an undercover police officer twice in March, according to detectives in Lycoming County. Christine Marie Saiers, 48, of Williamsport sold more than two grams of the drug for $200, detectives said. Police reached out directly to her in both instances, detectives added.
