Allenwood, Pa. — A man who was a resident at a treatment facility was charged after he left treatment and stole a vehicle from the parking lot of a nearby store.

The female accuser told police on Feb. 18 that she was at the Dollar General in Gregg Township around 8:30 p.m. when her 2016 white Ford Explorer was stolen. She had left the ignition running in the vehicle when she went into the store for a quick shopping trip, according to Trp. Colton Killion of state police at Milton. When she came back out a short time later, the SUV was gone.

Police interviewed a witness who told them they saw a man coming from the direction of White Deer Run of Allenwood treatment center. The witness saw the man walk back and forth from Sunoco to Bailey's and then to Dollar General on U.S. Route 15, according to the affidavit filed by Killion.

Police contacted White Deer to inquire about any walk-offs from the facility. Killion found out that Abraham Rolan Eisenhart, 29, Mapleton, was missing from the facility the evening of Feb. 18 around the time the theft occurred.

Killion reviewed surveillance footage from White Deer and saw Eisenhart hopping the fence at the facility before circling around to the center of the complex. Eisenhart then studied a map of White Deer and walked down the lower road toward Allenwood, Killion wrote.

Killion contacted PSP Huntingdon near Eisenhart's home to check if the vehicle was found at his address. When troopers went to his home, Eisenhart's fiancee told them she knew he had left White Deer. She had cut off his access to her debit card which he had in his possession, according to the affidavit. The fiancee told police she had been notified that Eisenhart had attempted a transaction on Feb. 19 in Kensington.

State police in King of Prussia located the stolen vehicle the morning of Feb. 19. Eisenhart's wallet and driver's license was found inside the vehicle.

Eisenhart now faces felony theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property charges. District Judge Jeffrey Mensch arraigned Eisenhart on Tuesday and set bail at $25,000. Eisenhart awaits his preliminary hearing on May 7 at Mensch's office.
