Man who resists arrest claims to be "possessed with demons"
Lewisburg, Pa. — As police tried to take a Milton man into custody, he resisted and told them he was "possessed with demons," according to state police at Milton. Ruvim Shevchenko, 22, was seen walking along Route 15 highway in Kelly Township shortly after 12:30 a.m. Feb. 16. When police made contact with him, he refused to get out of the road and told them he was possessed, according to a police report by Trp. Tyler Arbogast. Shevchenko then resisted arrest but police were eventually able to take him into custody. Police are filing charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Route 87 in Lycoming County closed due to crash
Update: As of 9:20 a.m. Route 87 is open. Montoursville, Pa. — Route 87 in Lycoming County is closed in both directions between the Interstate 180 interchange in Fairfield Township and Route 864 in Upper Fairfield Township, due to a vehicle crash with downed utilities. The crash occurred early this morning at the 1200 block of Route 87 in Fairfield Township. Verizon was contacted for a pole and wires down. A detour using local roads is in place. PennDOT will update when the road re-opens. Woman sells informant crack cocaine twice
Williamsport, Pa. — A woman who sold crack cocaine to a confidential informant twice is being charged with multiple felonies. Nakerah Coleman-Bundy, 39, met the informant in the 400 block of Louisa Street in December and again in January to sell crack cocaine, detectives with the Lycoming County Narcotics Enforcement Unit said. Coleman-Bundy and the informant went in between houses for less than a minute each time, detectives added. The informant used $100 in prerecorded cash in both transactions, according to the complaint. The substances tested positive for cocaine after being turned over to investigators, police said. Coleman-Bundy is being charged with two counts each of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility. She is free on $25,000 unsecured bail. Officials: Montandon man victim of homicide
Montandon, Pa. — Police are investigating the death of a Montandon-area man as a homicide, according to the Montour County coroner. Kyle Christensen, 28, was pronounced dead at 5:35 a.m. Saturday morning at Geisinger Medical Center, said Coroner Scott Lynn. State police at Milton say 22-year-old Preston Robert Bennett stabbed Christensen Friday night in West Chillisquaque Township around 6 p.m. Bennett has been arrested and is in custody, said Trp. Jessica Naschke. Montour County Coroner's Office, Milton PSP, Northumberland County District Attorney are investigating the death, which is being handled as a homicide.
