Montgomery, Pa. — Warm weather means the return of movies at the local drive-in theaters. The first drive-in to open this spring will be the Pike Drive-in Theatre on Route 15 in Montgomery.

The Pike's first day for the 2024 season is Friday. Now in its 71st year, the drive-in theater has two functional screens that they will use once again to show movies beginning at dusk. This weekend's double feature includes Kung Fu Panda 4 and Ghostbusters Frozen Empire on Screen 1. On Screen 2 will be Godzilla vs. Kong and Civil War. The movies will begin at 8:20 p.m. Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27. The box office opens at 7:30 p.m.

Price is $10 per person. Children ages 8 and under are admitted free. Snacks are available at the concession stand. If bringing food in, attendees must obtain an outside food permit for $10. There is a $.50 charge per item for using a credit or debit card at the box office.

The theater also is selling season passes as part of its March Season Pass Madness sale. Anyone interested in purchasing season passes should email pikedi@cs.com or inquire at the theater. The special sale price ends on Saturday, April 27. Weekly movie listings are available on the Pike's Facebook page.
