Native Plant Society announces Billings area Chapter
The Montana Native Plant Society (MNPS) is proud to announce the restoration of the Montana Native Plant Society Artemisia Chapter. The chapter folded some years ago and attempts to revive it have finally succeeded. An introductory meeting was held on March 10 with 13 interested people attending. Then an organizational meeting was held on March 23. The 21 people attending the organizational meeting elected officers, chose the old name of Artemisia (the scientific name for the sagebrush genus) and adopted the seven-county area surrounding Yellowstone County as their chapter area including: Stillwater, Carbon, Big Horn, Rosebud, Treasure, Musselshell, and Golden Valley counties.
