Escaped prisoner was still at large
A former Defiance County man convicted of killing two Paulding County residents in 2016 remained at large Friday afternoon, three days after escaping from a Lima prison. Bradley Gillespie, 50, formerly of 08417 Ashpacher Road, was reported missing from Allen-Oakwood Correctional Institution on Tuesday. Paulding County common pleas
Jeremy Hatcher, 41, Paulding, entered a not guilty by reason of insanity plea to two counts of felonious assault, first- and second-degree felonies; two counts of improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation or a school safety zone, each a second-degree felony; and two counts of aggravated menacing, each a first-degree misdemeanor. He was ordered to be held without bond, and the case continued to the call of the court. Andrew Black, 45, Troy, pleaded not guilty to breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was continued. Sentencing was scheduled for June 13.
Police investigating morning stabbing in southern Allen County
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Allen County Sheriff’s Department says a woman was seriously injured in a stabbing early Thursday morning. Police say they were told of a person who walked into a local hospital with stab wounds around 6 a.m. Officers say they found the woman was hurt in a stabbing along Benwell Place, in a mobile home park near the airport.

Fort Wayne Natatorium Installs New AI-Powered Drowning Prevention System
The 40,000-square-foot Hellen P. Brown Natatorium in Fort Wayne, Ind., has invested in a new drowning prevention system. According to the local CBS affiliate, Fort Wayne Community Schools will upgrade its Poseidon camera system to a new Ellis Aquatic Vigilance System, which features new cameras and AI models to determine if someone is drowning.

Fort Wayne man found guilty in 2018 triple murder
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A 30-year-old Fort Wayne man was found guilty on Friday in the fatal shooting of three men back in 2018. Jacquail Belcher was found guilty of three counts of murder and a firearm enhancement by an Allen County jury on Friday, following an hour and a half of deliberation.
