Southeast WI grocer to buy De Pere, Kaukauna Piggly Wiggly stores

An employee-owned southeastern Wisconsin grocer has purchased the De Pere and Kaukauna Piggly Wiggly stores from Stoneridge Meat and Country Market . Fox Bros. Piggly Wiggly on Nov. 2 announced it agreed to purchase the stores at 575 Swan Road, in De Pere, and 300 E. Ann St., in Kaukauna effective Jan. 31. Hartland-based Fox Bros. is 100% employee-owned via an employee stock ownership plan, or ESOP, that will be open to the two northeastern Wisconsin stores' employees. Stoneridge owned the De Pere store since August 2017 and the Kaukauna store since January 2018. The purchase comes less than a month after Stoneridge announced it would close the Little Chute Piggly Wiggly on Nov. 7 . "We cannot be more excited to welcome the Kaukauna and De Pere stores into our family and we truly look forward to serving those communities for years to come," said Fox Bros. Piggly Wiggly President Mike Olwig in a news release.
