Dewey Fire Department among many volunteer EMS services feeling the impact of staff shortages
DEWEY, Wis. (WSAW) - This week marks EMS week, and emergency medical services are a part of many fire departments. In Wisconsin, they continue to face staffing shortages. According to a 2023 report from the Wisconsin Office of Rural Health, more than 40% of state EMS agencies had staffing gaps where no ambulance was available for emergency calls.

Weston Tourism Commission denies funding for Monk Gardens event, Pride festival
Weston’s Tourism Commission on Monday unanimously rejected a request by Monk Botanical Gardens for funding supporting its annual Blossom of Lights festival, amid continued controversy surrounding the organization.
