Wausau-area man indicted on federal drug and gun crimes
A Wausau-area man is under federal indictment for alleged drug and gun crimes, according to a U.S. Dept. of Justice news release issued June 7. Jacob L Gould, of Weston, was indicted Wednesday on drug crimes involving fentanyl and on charges of possessing a firearm and ammunition after a felony conviction. Timothy M. O’Shea, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin made the announcement.

Man of Honor Society to hold annual fundraiser
WAUSAU – The Man of Honor Society will hold its 19th annual fundraiser from June 9 through June 11 to support veterans, active duty military and their families. The free event will be held outdoors behind the Wausau Eagle’s Club, 1703 S. Third Ave., Wausau, with music, raffles, food and drinks. An Honor Ride, Veteran’s Ceremony and fireworks show are planned for June 10. More than 200 riders are expected to participate in the Honor Ride, which welcomes both motorcycles and vehicles.

Abbotsford Man Appears in Court for Stabbing that Occurred at Marathon County Tavern
An Abbotsford man appeared in Marathon County Court on Tuesday for a stabbing that occurred at a Marathon County tavern. Back in January, authorities received a call of a stabbing outside Perla’s Place Bar and Grill in the Village of Unity. When authorities arrived, they found a man inside the tavern with blood on his face and the left side of his abdomen. The owner of the tavern said they had found the man like that outside.

Wausau skatepark plans nearly final
Design is nearly complete for Wausau’s new skateboard park with plans in the works for the space to be largely grant- and donation-funded. Wausau Parks Director Jamie Polley presented the plans for the updated park, which will be located at Oak Island at the same site of the current structure.
