KNOX TRUSTEES – Knox Township trustees will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at 2895 Knox School Road. Trustees will convene at 6:45 p.m. to review bills. AULTMAN ALLIANCE GOLF – Aultman Alliance Community Hospital plans its 2nd annual Golf Classic with a shotgun start at noon June 10 at Alliance Country Club. The four-person scramble includes 18 holes of golf, carts, lunch, dinner and giveaways. Lunch and registration will be at 11 a.m. Golfers can purchase add-on “Super Ticket” for entry into the longest drive and longest putt contests, the team skins prize and a separate putting contest. Sebring McKinley graduates celebrate
Members of Sebring McKinley High School’s Class of 2024 received their diplomas Sunday during a ceremony filled with tradition and special moments. School district and school officials took part in the event, which included addresses from Valedictorian Blake Thomas and Salutatorians Robert L. Helmick III and Velicity Twaddle. Sebring Local Superintendent Toni Viscounte gave the welcome address, and certified the class. McKinley Principal Brian Clark and School Board President Debra Green awarded the diplomas. During the event, Green paid tribute to a fallen member of the school’s Class of 2024, Emily Waseman. She died in 2014 after a battle with a rare form of brain cancer, at age 9. Green awarded her parents, Brian and Stefani Waseman, an honorary diploma in Emily’s name. The Sebring McKinley Class of 2024 had 33 members. The student completed several annual rituals during and after the commencement exercises, including the turning of tassels on their mortar boards, a ceremonial tossing of their caps outside the school and a short parade during which friends and family honor the students who just received their diplomas.
Possible alligator sighting at Kent Lake prompts warnings at Kensington

Runners Believe Ryan Johnson Memorial 5K Race attracts 145 participants
BELOIT —The ever-popular Runners Believe Ryan Johnson Memorial 5K attracted 145 participants Saturday morning in Beloit. It marked the 16th year for the annual event. The race is held annually to honor the memory of former West Branch athlete Ryan Johnson, a young man of faith, who tragically died after running a leg of a 3200-meter relay race in a Warriors’ home varsity track meet against Canton South in 2008.
Boardman police, schools launch program to help students afford driving classes

Next Boardman schools superintendent says he's prepared to take on the role
