Boil advisory issued for much of southern Clarinda
(Clarinda) -- Some Clarinda residents are under a boil advisory until further notice. Clarinda City Manager Gary McClarnon says due to a water main break, a large part of the south end of Clarinda is under the advisory between Division Street and the south end of city limits spanning from the west city limits to the east city limits. City officials say anyone who was without water anytime between 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday is in the boil advisory.
Montgomery County Sherriff’s Office Arrest
The Montgomery County Sherriff’s Office arrested 25 year old Cheyenne Marie Haidsiak, of Red Oak early this morning for OWI 1st Offense. Haidsiak was transported to the Montgomery County Jail where she is being held on $1,000 bond.
CRHC welcomes new Endocrinology specialist
(Clarinda) -- Clarinda Regional Health Center officials recently welcome a new specialty healthcare provider to their team. CRHC officials announced recently the addition of Dr. Goral Panchal, a board-certified specialist in Endocrinology to its specialty healthcare professional’s team. A graduate of Smt NHL Municipal Medical College, Gujarat University in Ahmedabad, India, Panchal pursued her postgraduate training in Tennessee and Philadelphia before beginning her career in the United States. Some of Panchal's focus areas include diabetes and gestational diabetes, thyroid disorders, polycystic ovary syndrome, and adrenal problems.
Red Oak school board awards Inman boiler replacement contract
(Red Oak) -- Red Oak school officials have awarded a contract for a major infrastructure upgrade at Inman Elementary School. Meeting in regular session Wednesday, the Red Oak School Board, by a 3-0 vote, approved awarding the Inman boiler replacement project to Grunwald Mechanical out of Omaha for just over $289,000. The board also received two other proposals, including a roughly $351,000 bid from Rasmussen Mechanical out of Council Bluffs and a $511,000 proposal from Ray Martin Company in Omaha. Red Oak School Superintendent Ron Lorenz says all three bids checked out with the engineers, thus recommending the low bid. He adds that the boiler system replacement project will be a significant upgrade over the current boilers installed in the building in the early 2000s that are showing their age.

Traffic Stop Leads to an Arrest in Montgomery County
(Red Oak) Montgomery County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 1700 block of K Avenue on Thursday, which led to the arrest of 40-year-old Zachary Morrison of Grant for driving under suspension. Deputies transported Morrison to the Montgomery County Jail and held him on a $491.25 bond.
