16-year-old in custody in shooting of teen near park in Asheboro
ASHEBORO, N.C. — A 16-year-old who’s accused of shooting another teenager near a park in Asheboro is in custody. The Asheboro Police Department said they tracked down the suspect to a home in Statesville. The teenager was arrested Friday morning without incident. The shooting happened on May 3 on Canoy Drive near North Asheboro Park.
