GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) – Pay attention to your surroundings. That message is from Greensboro police after there were two 911 calls, two days in a row, about a man exposing himself in the same neighborhood.

Greensboro police arrested Rodney Dayshaun Roberts-Knight, 28, for two counts of disorderly conduct and two counts of indecent exposure.

IRC operations cause concern for some Greensboro council members

People living in the neighborhood off of Overton Drive told FOX8 off-camera that this is disturbing. They have seen Roberts-Knight in the area several times, and one woman tells FOX8 she thinks she has seen him back here since he was arrested and released a few days ago.

It’s a quiet neighborhood with neighbors that talk to each other, and they noticed the same man multiple times.

“I made an incident report on April the first about a man who followed me home from the greenway in Greensboro, and I just saw him again so I want it to be written down that he came by my house again,” said a caller to the 911 operator.

You can hear the fear in the phone call.

“He is unnerving me. I don’t know, and I can’t even be in my yard. I mean, it is ridiculous. … If something happens to me, I want it to be recorded that I reported him,” the caller said.

That call was from May 1 when the caller said a man told her inappropriate things.

“He threatened to — it was sexual,” the caller said.

The day before, on April 30, another caller reported a man exposing himself in the same neighborhood.

“There was a man. I just parked my vehicle from returning home. A man walked up behind me, came to the front of my car, pulled his d— out and started hitting it on my car. … I started backing up my car and honked my horn and he ran off,” another caller said to the 911 operator.

Greensboro police linked Rodney Roberts-Knight to both cases and ask anyone who experienced or witnessed a similar situation to report it to law enforcement.

So far this year there have been 15 sexual offenses reported, which is down from 24 reports at this time last year.

Greensboro police want you to be aware of your surroundings, avoid jogging or walking alone at night and trust your instincts. If something seems off or you are uncomfortable, move away quickly, scream or whatever makes you feel safe.

Greensboro police say, if this happens to you, get to a safe place and call 911 to report it. Be sure to pay attention to get a good description of the offender. That’s what people did in the Overton Drive neighborhood that led to an arrest.
