Troy Braatz, 23, Toledo, appeared for sentencing on charges of attempted engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, a fifth-degree felony; and theft, a first-degree misdemeanor, according to Defiance County Prosecutor Morris Murray’s office. He was given a 41-month prison term with credit for four days served in jail while his case was pending and ordered to pay $3,112.90 restitution to the victims. Braatz and a co-defendant stole merchandise from two businesses on Defiance’s North Clinton Street on Sept. 25. The felony charge was amended from engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, a second-degree felony.
Chad Johnson, 52, Bryan, pleaded guilty to theft, a first-degree misdemeanor. He was placed on probation for one year and ordered to pay $8,000 restitution to the victim. Johnson collected money for a project at a residence on Defiance’s Chelsea Drive on June 19, 2023, and failed to complete the work.
Steven Kroeckel, 46, 214 Harding St., pleaded guilty plea to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was continued. Sentencing was scheduled for July 3.
Shane Seibold, 52, Toledo, pleaded guilty plea to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was continued. Sentencing was scheduled for July 2.
Chad Switzer, 45, Toledo, pleaded guilty to theft from a person in a protected class, a fifth-degree felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was continued. Sentencing was scheduled for July 9.
Brian Adkins Jr., 35, Bryan, pleaded not guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony; and OVI, a first-degree misdemeanor. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for June 6 and bond was set at $1,000 cash with a 10% allowance provision.
Carl Hagerman, 44, Stryker (CCNO), pleaded not guilty to three counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs, second- and third-degree felonies; aggravated possession of drugs, a second-degree felony; and tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for June 3 and bond was set at $350,000 cash with a 10% allowance provision.
Dennis Tindle, 29, Shelbyville, Ind., pleaded not guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for June 6 and he was given a personal-recognizance bond.
Austin Yant, 29, 701 Holly Glen Drive, pleaded not guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony; and OVI, a first-degree misdemeanor. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for June 6 and he was given a personal-recognizance bond.
