DOYLESTOWN, PA—At Tuesday night’s school board meeting, a former middle school principal who was charged with trespassing at his wife’s Doylestown house last year was given a second chance with the district. In August of 2023, Kevin Marton, then principal at Tohickon Middle School, was charged with criminal trespass and harassment after entering his wife’s Mary Street home and refusing to leave. Over three dozen students graduated from the Bucks County Intermediate Unit in a ceremony celebrating their achievements at Delaware Valley University in Doylestown. The Bucks IU offers educational programs for students across Pennsylvania with learning and mental disabilities, often working with some students from kindergarten through their high school graduation. Students from Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties are able to receive services, with older students able to focus on community-based instruction, volunteer opportunities, and supervised work experiences, according to the agency.

Bucks IU EmployAbility Expo provides extra boost toward meaningful employment
Everyone has times when a little more practice or individualized guidance can help prepare them for taking the next big step in life. The Bucks County Intermediate Unit (Bucks IU) holds an annual EmployAbility Expo each spring to provide students with special needs extra practice and support as they begin their search for meaningful employment. This year 85 students registered to participate with Bucks IU Transition Programs (W.O.W. – We’re Outstanding Workers, Everitt, College Connections, Project SEARCH) representing a significant portion of the overall attendees. The event was held on May 2, and included participants from nine Bucks County School Districts and one Career Technical Center.
