Photos: Vehicle Fire Shuts Down Northbound 309 Near Sellersville Exit Wednesday Evening
Both lanes of northbound Route 309 were closed Wednesday evening as first responders fought a fully involved vehicle fire between the Souderton and Sellersville exits. Police and fire personnel were dispatched to the scene at 7 p.m. for a report of a vehicle fire. Arriving crews located a four-door Kia Soul along the right lane near mile marker 21.9 that had caught fire, and quickly worked to contain and extinguish the blaze.
Crews respond to pair of vehicle crashes with rescue near Whitehall Road on Tuesday
Two people were rescued on Tuesday following a pair of unrelated crashes near Whitehall Road in Worcester Township. The first crash occurred at 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of Bean and Whitehall roads and involved two vehicles — a black Mercedes coupe and a tan Nissan Altima. Both vehicles sustained front-end damage, with the Nissan coming to rest on the side of Whitehall Road and the Mercedes striking the corner of a porch along the 2500 block of Bean Road.

Officials are anticipating a “substantial delay” to the preliminary hearing for triple murder suspect Andre Gordon, scheduled for Wednesday morning.Gordon, 26, is reportedly not communicating with jail staff and attorneys and refusing to leave his jail cell to be transported to the Bucks County Justice Center, where the hearing will be held.
