Nichols Hometown Heroes Banner Program
Nichols will be continuing their Hometown Heroes Banner Program in 2024. The program honors veterans, both living and deceased, and active duty members of the Armed Forces from Nichols. Each banner features the individual’s photo, name, branch of service, and date served. The banners will be displayed on light poles throughout the Village of Nichols.

Lindley Woman Facing Drug Charges, Etc., After A Long Chase
A 43 year old Town of Lindley woman was arrested by the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office after a chase that went from Pennsylvania into Southport, into Steuben County and then back into Chemung County. Chemung County Officials say 43 year old Jessica Neally was the driver and they report that she is charged with 7th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and numerous vehicle and traffic violations. The drug in question is reportedly, Meth. Officials say that Jessica Neally was already wanted in Steuben County on charges of bail jumping and criminal possession of a controlled substance. The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office says Neally was turned over to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department, and that she’s also facing charges in Pennsylvania.

Unsettled and mild midweek
Weather conditions will become more active midweek as a frontal system impacts our region. As a low pressure passes to the north, a warm front will lift north into our area with scattered showers. This warm front will also pull a lot of warm air across the Twin Tiers. Consequently, overnight lows on Tuesday will be near 50 degrees and high will top out in the 60s. Wednesday will be breezy and showery with shower becoming more numerous later in the day. Thunder can not be ruled out on Wednesday as the unstable air holds. The associated cold front is expected to swing by Wednesday evening with rain and snow.
