Emmylou Harris, Melissa Etheridge to Headline Strings Music Fest in Steamboat

Like most, I love a good music festival, and Steamboat Springs has one of the most impressive in the Colorado high country.

I especially like festivals that span genres.

The Steamboat's Strings Music Festival—which includes rock, jazz, bluegrass, country, and other genres—is now in its 37th year, and this summer looks to be as good as anything being offered up in the Centennial State.

The ongoing shindig cranks up on June 21 with Emmylou Harris, one of 13 Grammy Award-nominated artists on the lineup for the upcoming season, which features a whopping 37 shows.

Two-time Grammy Award-winner Melissa Etheridge is also in the line-up (for Friday, July 5).

She "stormed onto the American rock scene in 1988 with the release of her critically acclaimed self-titled debut album, which led to an appearance on the 1989 Grammy Awards show."

Ben Folds, Squirrel Nut Zippers (they're still around?), Asleep at the Wheel, Ruckus, Devotchka, Shakey Graves, the Fretliners and many others are in the roster.

The Festival announced the artist line-up late last week, and it's jammed packed with some exceptional talent.

Tickets go on sale May 10, and can be found here .
