Bart Hain is from Lancaster, PA, and has lived in Blackhawk for 3 years. His father loved Colorado and would bring him and his family out for trips. Dad eventually settled in Colorado, but passed a couple of years ago. Bart decided to stay here.

Remarkably, he's only worked at Eldora for 3 weeks. Still, he seemed to know how to chat with the guests. That's how I met him.

Julia Stites came to the Nederland area from Northern Idaho. She's been in Nederland for 4 years and she's been working at Eldora for all those years.

She likes snowboarding and generally being cheeky.

    Favorite place for grab-and-go breakfast:

Julia: IP lodge (Eldora), New Moon (Nederland).

    Bart: YO!han's, Gilpin County.

    Best lunch spot:

    Julia: Timbers (Eldora), Ubon (Nederland).

Bart: Toss: Wood Fired Eatery, Rollinsville.

Best non-skiing day activity or diversion:

    Julia: Rockclimbing.

    Bart: Golden Gate State Park.

Best evening hangout (I guess that would be Ned but it could also be Boulder):

    Julia: No comment.

    Bart: Gold Dirt Distillery, Rollinsville.

Best thing about Eldora/Nederland that visitors might not know:

Julia: We have a resident fox who likes to hang out in the base area/parking lot before and after hours.

Bart: The people! It’s has a great mountain town vibe unlike anywhere else.

Favorite run at Eldora (and why):

Julia: Gully Glades—there’s somethin' about that one.

Bart: BunnyFair—because it was my first run years ago.

Weirdest thing you've seen at Eldora:

Julia: So many I can’t keep track but the most recent was a blow up bunny telemarking on ski blades.

Bart: You definitely see a lot of weird stuff, but most recently it would be two guys dressed as Bucee, from the service station Bucee’s.
